  • Prime at Edith Cavell, Tombland, Norwich

    Run by brothers Ben and Tom Edwards, Prime is making sure meat lovers don’t miss out by launching cook at home steak kits. They are delivering them between noon and 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays in the Norwich area, and they contain a choice of steak, chips, sides and sauces plus a pudding. The pair also run Steak in the Stix at Cawston, near Reepham, and offer takeaways on Saturdays and Sundays, from 3pm – 8pm. This is a collection only service, and choices include steak, chicken and veggie dishes.

    Richard Bainbridge and his team offer oven-ready takeaway meals on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Starting at £24 for three courses, there’s a real accent on local, seasonal food. You have to collect the food on your chosen day and one menu features gazpacho – delicious!

    Kelly and Scott Dougal are launching a new takeaway service on June 19. Expect a salad and platter menu, plus something special for the weekend. Curries on Fridays, a themed three-course meal on Saturdays and a barbecue fish kit on Sundays. Watch this space for more.

    Dan and Natalie are, at time of writing, limbering up to offer a takeaway service from June 13. The duo will offer up their trademark small plates on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunches – how does sticky pork belly with creamy mash and garlic and sage butter sound?     A click and collect service is now available at this 14th century inn in North Norfolk run by chef patron Daniel Smith. There is a choice of menus, wines and sides on offer on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, plus a Sunday lunch option, a BBQ option and also one for Fathers’ Day.  We spotted the Bakewell tart, much loved by the Feast team, on one of the featured menus! A similar service is also available at The Wildebeest in Stoke Holy Cross, near Norwich, which is also run by Dan and his team.

    Superfood bar Pono is open for takeaway coffees, smoothies, juices and salad bowls from Tuesday to Thursdays from 10am to 3pm.
    The team is also offering both collection and delivery days for pre orders – with more goodies available, including yummy brownies and flapjacks and all your usual super healthy favourites like oat bowls and chia puddings.     Stuart and Rebecca Mayhew and their herd of Jersey cows have a gorgeous countryside setting in between Norwich and Bungay. The farm shop is packed with local produce, including their own butter, cream, yogurt, milk and milkshakes! And the butchery counter is always well stocked. Look out for their Friday night takeaway service, too – an Asian Street Food one is planned for June 5 – and the couple also offer a delivery service – with a tip top cheese hamper catching our eye.
  • Walsingham Farms Shop, Little Walsingham

    General manager Sam Bagge and his team cram the pretty barn with everything from pies to cheeses, fruit and veg, jams, pickles and more – all the ingredients for a perfect picnic. The salads and strawberries are looking delicious, and the butchery counter is always a work of art! A delivery service is available and it is hoped to open the Norwich market stall before too long.

So many places are offering and doing really great things. The White Horse at Neatishead, near Wroxham, is starting takeaways, Guist Village Shop, near Dereham, has been open throughout and stocks local products, Fielding Cottage at Honingham, near Norwich, has expanded all that it offers during lockdown and now has everything from Swannington Farm to Fork meat to fresh fruit and veg, Staithe Smokehouse at Brancaster Staithe has gorgeous smoked fish and a small selection of local produce and delivers around the county, Thornham Deli in North Norfolk offers much – from yummy takeaways to local deliveries. and for those missing their afternoon teas and sweet treats, Katering4U, based in Fakenham, are offering boxed Afternoon Teas and treat boxes, whilst Norfolk Scone Company have selection of Afternoon Teas, cakes and savoury delights. You can also find that at Creake Abbey Farmers’ Market. We have our eye on their curry of the week!
