Feast’s own Samantha Mattocks, who appeared on season 15 of MasterChef, is cooking up a storm with the release of her debut novel, Sandstorm. Samantha has drawn on her life lived with Arabian horses to create a romping romance, and readers around the world are already hooked on this racy read.
Set in the exciting and mysterious world of the Arabian horse, against the heady backdrop of the mystical Middle East, Sandstorm is a steamy read that grips the reader from the very first page, galloping through the chapters with twists at every turn.
Sandstorm follows a central group of characters through Europe and the Middle East, keeping up with their antics in and out of the show-ring. As romance blossoms, then fades away, the characters keep you guessing until the very end as to whether true love will prevail.
‘Sandstorm has been a long time in the making,’ says Samantha. ‘Lockdown presented an unavoidable opportunity to finally get my novel published. I have had so many requests from friends wanting to read it during these challenging times, so it is lovely to finally be able to put it out there.’
Samantha was born in Norfolk and has lived there for most of her life. With her family, they have bred Arabian horses and in 2004, she founded her own award-winning publication, The Arabian Magazine. Travelling the world with the magazine gave flight to Sandstorm, with her insights into this world shared through the pages of this book, and much was written while flying at 37,000 feet.
