This year’s fundraising Purple Picnic Week for Nelson’s Journey takes place in July. Find out how to take part
Each year, the Norfolk charity Nelson’s Journey, which provides support to children and young people in the county who are struggling with grief, holds a fundraising week.
This year the Purple Picnic Week is taking place from July 5-11 and yes, holding a picnic is a key way of raising funds. It’s a fun and sociable way to get people together, and a lovely excuse to get out in the fresh air and tuck into some delicious food.
The charity, which was established in 1997, is also encouraging schools, businesses, individuals and community groups to fundraise by perhaps holding a virtual quiz, getting your school to take part in a non-uniform day or remembering someone special by setting up a Purple Picnic online fundraising page.
The charity has lots of information to help you plan your picnic, including recipes, party invites and even bunting.
