• For 2020, the Norfolk Christmas Fayre will be held at the Norfolk Showground to ensure safety and space for all their visitors.
Norwich, Norfolk – The team behind the Royal Norfolk Show are ensuring visitors can enjoy a homegrown Christmas by taking the Norfolk Christmas Fayre to the Norfolk Showground for its third year on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December 2020. Entry will be by a preordered £5 ticket with free parking and timed entry slots.
The Norfolk Christmas Fayre is a festival celebrating the season the Norfolk-way with a focus on locally sourced produce and supporting small businesses. With this in mind, the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (RNAA) reviewed plans for the market, which is usually held at Norwich Cathedral and felt that the space and established facilities at the Norfolk Showground would better support traders and visitors alike.
Visitors tasted, smelt and sampled at the Norfolk Christmas Fayre in 2019 and this year, the organisers wanted to ensure systems, such as ticketed and timed entry, were in place to encourage their visitors to support the many local small businesses and producers in the area.
Local street food will be on site with visitors being invited to enjoy an outdoor market filled with good food and Christmas lights while discovering unique Norfolk gift ideas in the upcoming festive season.
“The Norfolk Christmas Fayre has been very successful since its inspection in 2018 and we want 2020 to be a unique Christmas experience which reminds people about what makes Norfolk such a great place.” A spokesperson from the RNAA, said: “We are putting all our effort into ensuring the safety and support of everyone involved; and want to leave this year on a high.”
Previously, visitors to the Norfolk Christmas Fayre have been able to do their Christmas shopping and sample produce, with everything from hats and handcrafted wooden Christmas decorations to cheese and locally produced cider.
