Stylist Tamsyn Morgans on making a lockdown Mothering Sunday special.
This Mother’s Day, like many of us, I will again be celebrating with my mum from afar. We already live a three hour car journey away from my mum, and the Covid restrictions this past year mean that we have only seen her twice, but she has been my absolute rock. Always on the end of the phone when I need her, always there for me.
Sending flowers is something that I know she really appreciates, so I will be sure to send her some pretty spring blooms. But I think it will be lovely to get a date in the diary for afternoon tea, something for her to look forward to, where we can dress up and spoil ourselves. You can’t beat afternoon tea somewhere gorgeous, preferably with vintage teacups, and a cake stand full of divine cakes, scones and tiny sandwiches. Maybe even a glass of fizz. Because right now, getting fun things in the diary with loved ones is such a joyful, hopeful thing to do, and a reminder that good times are surely on the horizon once more.
