Norwich stylist and photographer Tamsyn Morgans creates the perfect Valentine’s atmosphere at home.
I don’t celebrate Valentine’s day in the traditional sense, but instead I use it as an opportunity to lavish a little extra love on those closest to me, and to treat myself to my favourite thing – flowers and candles. Whilst spring blooms might not be the easiest thing to get hold of at the moment, I can still get my floral hit by planting hyacinth bulbs in vintage vessels. As a stylist, I also have a selection of beautiful artificial flowers that look as good as the real thing when I need to brighten up a grey day (you can get brilliant artificial blooms nowadays).
Candlelight is another favourite of mine, so I will also light lots of taper candles in vintage candlesticks, and tea lights in cut glass tumblers. Luckily I stashed some luxury scented candles away before the lockdown, so I will also light a couple of those for a bit of decadence.
Finally, I will cook something delicious for my family, and we will squabble over finding a movie that we all want to watch, before cosying up on the sofa for the perfect night in.
