Norwich stylist Tamsyn Morgans finds joy in flowers and herbs
I’m so looking forward to the garden coming back to life, and to being able to cut my own flowers again. I’ve made a real effort over the past couple of years to try and grow my own blooms, and this summer I will also grow my own herbs, so I can snip them fresh from the garden to add a little something to anything I’m creating in the kitchen.
When it comes to flowers, dahlias are a really great ‘cut and come again’ flower, which has a great vase life, and the more you cut, the more they bloom. Plus they come in a huge array of colours, from candy pastels to soft creams and dark moody reds. For my herbs, I have an old reclaimed butler sink and a zinc tub, both of which I will repurpose to plant them in.
Herbs can easily be grown in pots in any sunny space or windowsill, and it’s a great way to cut down on the packaging that comes with supermarket herbs.
